Hello, lover!

A product (or rather, a box) that I’ve been talking about a lot recently is a Senna makeup box. It quite literally is a box, with three layers of pressed powders and space in the bottom for other items.

Layer one: small eyeshadow pansThese babies are 26mm, the same as MAC pans, and they’re all lovely! One of these days I’ll swatch them all for you, but for now, you just get photos. For the most part, they’re soft without being too crumbly, and very decently pigmented. I mean, there’s a reason why I always reach for my Senna box when doing eye looks! This layer would be great on its own, which is why I’m thinking about depotting and putting them in a palette. Neutrals like Taupe Glow are absolute stunners in day or night, Snow makes a gorgeous shimmery hilight, and Twilight paired with Fantasy gives you a gorgeous purple/blue eye with some major depth!

Layer two: large eyeshadow pansJust when I thought it couldn’t get any better, I tried these. They’re gloriously large, and insanely pigmented! I’m not kidding – I’ve never seen another shadow as pigmented as Blue Note (now one of my favourite shadows ever) or Destiny (a close runner up!)I use the left side of this palette the most often (Blue Note, Destiny, and the equally pigmented silver half of Kinetic) but the right side is gorgeous as well. They’re great non-chalky matte pastels, and are super handy when blending out edges or doing more subtle looks!

Layer three: face products
I don’t reach for these as often, but I think more than anything else that’s purely because I’m too busy with the top two layers! The four blushes on the right are all stunningly pigmented, go on super smoothly, and have great finishes. The blot powder is the only item in this box that remains untouched, and that’s only because I’m loyal to my silica powder!
The Verdict? Duh – if you ever see this box, buy it! It’s great for anyone who wants to get into makeup, as you could literally have this as your whole eye/cheek collection. I mean, a “true” makeup artist would definitely need more, but if you’re just doing yourself, friends, and family, this could easily cover all your colour needs. Throw a few versitile lippies, a tube of primer, black liner, and a few brow products into the bottom, get them to bring their own foundation/mascara, and you’re all set!
