7 things we loved about NYFW

1. Amusing hair contraptions.

2. Tissue-paper sets, instead of rollers!
3. Smiling, multiethnic models at LAMB — both surprises. Stefani picked way more than the usual “token coloured girl,” instead specking her runway with beautiful women of all sorts of ethnicities. And smiles! On the runway! What’ll they think of next?
4. Seeing how much of a difference bad makeup can make. Case in point? Lindsey Wixon, at the Victoria Beckham show, looked like the single most cruel and mean person we’d ever see. But upon a quick search, it turns out that she’s actually super, super cute! (Click to enlarge. Definitely click to enlarge.)

And a smiling shot for good measure…

5. This quote about Karl Lagerfeld, via The Cut:

“No, he’s so funny, and he’s actually really easy to talk to because he knows everything,” Chung said. “So if you’re stuck you just say, ‘Um, tell me about Medieval times.'”

6. The parts at L’Wren Scott. They’re a little too… artistic… for street-wear, but I think they’re kinda awesome. I hope those pigments make it to counters, and soon — colour me (har, har) intrigued! (Article)

7. Behind the scenes shots, of course!
